Privacy notice
How Ledgend looks after your information.
Who we are
Ledgend is run by Garry Jones, 147 Cruick Avenue, South Ockendon, Essex. RM15 6EH. You can contact us at garry_jones2@hotmail.co.uk.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We never see or store your actual password.
- Your books: the business name and the records you enter: dates, amounts, categories, notes, and the reports worked out from them.
- Security records: the times you sign in, the network address (IP address) and type of browser used, and failed sign-in attempts. These help us spot and stop misuse.
Why
We use this only to run the service for you and to keep it secure. We don't sell your information, show adverts, or use analytics or tracking.
Who else handles it
Our hosting provider stores the data on our behalf in the UK or EU, and our email provider sends the sign-up and password emails. They act only on our instructions.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: one to keep you signed in, one to protect forms from forgery, and one remembering whether you've switched on Accountant view. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so there's no banner to accept.
How long we keep it
While your account is open. When you delete a business or your account, the records are removed straight away from the live service. Safety copies made automatically may remain for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.
Your rights
You can download a complete copy of your books at any time (Settings, Backup and restore), correct anything by undoing and re-entering it, and delete your business or your account yourself from your account page. You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Keeping it safe
Connections are encrypted. Passwords are hashed. Each business's books are held in a separate database that other users can't reach. You can add an authenticator-app code for extra protection. No system is perfectly safe, so please keep your own backup too.
